Buyers planning for the long term should track the upcoming infrastructure projects in Thanisandra and the surrounding belt. Several major projects are under way, and together they will change how residents travel to work, the city centre and the airport over the next few years.

The Blue Line airport metro is the largest. Running along the Outer Ring Road through Nagawara, Hebbal and Jakkur before heading to the airport along Bellary Road, it was about 72% complete by August 2026, with completion targets from end-2027 to March 2028. Its nearest station is about 8.5 km from the Thanisandra Main Road belt. Our Blue Line guide has the details.

The Pink Line will link Nagawara, 7.9 km away, with MG Road, Shivajinagar and Bannerghatta Road. As of late September 2026, the above-ground southern section was targeted for mid-October 2026 and the full corridor to Nagawara for March 2027. Nagawara will become an interchange with the Blue Line.

The Peripheral Ring Road North Bangalore stretch, now called the Bengaluru Business Corridor, is moving after years of delay. Its first construction package, a 21 km section between Madavara and Bellary Road, was awarded in June 2026, with a 36-month construction timeline. A second phase is planned to run from Bellary Road to Old Madras Road via Hennur Road, which would sit close to Thanisandra.

Closer to home, the main road itself has seen work. Rather than a Thanisandra Main Road widening, the key upgrade has been white-topping, with the stretch from Nagawara junction towards Bagalur Road included in the city's concreting programme. Concrete surfaces last longer and reduce potholes, which helps the daily commute.

Employment infrastructure is growing too. The KIADB Aerospace Park, 19 km away, adds aerospace, SEZ and IT activity along the airport corridor, while Bhartiya City (3.2 km) and Manyata Tech Park (7.9 km) continue to anchor demand.

Watching the upcoming infrastructure projects in Thanisandra closely is worthwhile for any buyer. Official timelines appear in BMRCL and BDA announcements, and progress reports in local news give an early sense of slippage. Factoring a margin into your own plans avoids disappointment if a project opens later than promised.

Timelines can slip, so buy for what exists today and treat infrastructure as upside. At Prestige Thanisandra, with possession targeted for 2031, most of these projects should be complete before handover. See our location page for current distances.
